Looks like Bissen may throw down the hammer and ban vacation rentals. This will probably also lower housing prices for all existing owners since 20+% of properties are not actually used as "homes". Personally, I think they should introduce a similar model to New York City where they allow home stays, there are plenty of hosts who rent out a room and this would free up housing for the locals.

Not surprising. The Lahaina fires really did a mess up the whole housing situation even more on Maui.

Honestly, running a short-term rental in any blue city/state is going to be risky business, I cant think of any major city/state which doesnt have some sort of regulations..
